Advocacy is not
a charity model.
We are an advocacy organization. We endorse bills. We take positions on legislators. We organize against private parole companies and for family-notification mandates. That kind of political speech comes at the cost of tax deductibility — and we think that's the correct trade. We chose the work.
If you want a tax-deductible vehicle that funds adjacent research and infrastructure, the Closed Ladder Capital Foundation is where that money goes.
All members and sponsors above $1,000 in a calendar year are published in our annual report. We do not accept dark money. We do not accept anonymous payments above the disclosure threshold. We publish a complete list of legislators we have endorsed and bills we have supported.
Tax notice
Closed Ladder is an advocacy organization. Dues and tips fund advocacy. They are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. We take positions; that is the trade. For a tax-deductible alternative funding adjacent research, see the Closed Ladder Capital Foundation.
